To Whom It May Concern:
I was writing to kindly request that you consider having an interest rate on your savings accounts that is above the rate of inflation (2%).
With interest rates so low, there’s no motivation to keep money with the bank. I’m in the process of finding a super risky investment to put all the money I have in my Citi account in. When then investment dies and I’ve lost all my money, I won’t be able to pay my credit card bills and I’ll have to settle with you for less than I owe.
I actually won’t do those things, but when you offer a nonexistent interest rate, you’re not motivating people to put money in the bank.
You’re obviously making money off of the money your customers keep with you. Please consider a more appreciative reward for investing in you, or else many of us will invest elsewhere instead.
Sincerely,
Rachel L. Arbeit
NOTE: I was unable to actually sent out this message because Citi’s message form kept giving an error message about needing to limit the amount of special characters and symbols. I tried to submit a version with no punctuation whatsoever and received the same error message. Big bank customer service: they don’t even want feedback they’ll obviously ignore.
