Dear Christina Aguilera’s Public Relations Firm

Dear Christina Aguilera’s PR Firm,

Insightful Words from Christina Aguilera

I’m onto you with this divorce thing…

During the Christmas shopping season, I’ve seen Christina Aguilera’s face on People, Redbook and more, quoting the “heart ache” of her recent split from husband and father of her child, Jordan Bratman.

“Things were so unhealthy and unhappy… I knew I had to end it,” Aguilera says in an interview. “I really didn’t want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up.”

Aw, poor thing. And she’s gracing magazines to show women how to rebound, stay strong.

Except not.

Just trying to figure out how to make it through each day... with her new man

In what I can only describe as a ballsy PR move, Christina Aguilera is feigning openness and honesty. In a reality, the singer/actress, who openly notes that it was while she was filming theĀ  movie ‘Burlesque’ with Cher that her marriage began to fall apart, coincidentally is now dating (and smitten with) set assistant Matthew Rutler.

So the pop tart left her husband for another man and, at least in part to promote her film, is drawing attention to herself by spinning the story to a softer, gentler tale. Like a politician.

Sources “close to her”, which of course could be her, the PR firm, anyone… say that the split had to do with her “comeback” success. Another push for the film, which was not a comeback, nor a success.

The publicity tactics do, however, seem successful. Christina’s face is everywhere, her imagine is at least being portrayed in a somewhat positive light (she looks good, which helps), her movie is being promoted (though it seems no one has actually done to see it), and even her wikipedia page is clean of any details on her personal life in this regard.

Therefore, the PR firm did fairly well with this spun story.

The public may or may not read between the lines and notice that the wannabe sweetheart is the cause of her own troubles. Chances are, they just don’t care.
